Read moreThe Tree Pollen Respiratory Allergy Test Panel measures immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies produced in the blood in response to certain tree pollen allergens. This panel measures immune responses to maple, birch, mountain cedar, oak, elm, walnut, sycamore, cottonwood, white ash, white mulberry, pecan/hickory, olive, and acacia.
With this allergy test, a blood sample is drawn and checked for the levels of antibodies your immune system produces in response to common indoor and outdoor allergens. It’s a quick, convenient way to test for multiple allergens at one time. There’s no need to stop any allergy medications you may currently be taking and because this is only a blood draw, there is no exposure to an allergen and therefore no risk of severe allergic reactions to an allergen, which is not the case with skin testing.
PLEASE NOTE
This test reports the presence of lgE antibodies to tree pollen allergens, but the result by itself cannot confirm the diagnosis of an allergy. It is important to follow up with your healthcare provider. They will review your results along with your medical history, signs and symptoms, medications, and any other test results. Only a healthcare provider can diagnose an allergy and prescribe medication, if needed.
